AWS and OpenAI announced a strategic collaboration on 3 November to redefine the future of artificial intelligence. This partnership aims to advance OpenAI’s AI workloads with AWS’s world-class infrastructure over the next seven years. As per the statement released on this alliance, AWS is set to empower OpenAI’s generative AI workloads with Amazon EC2 UltraServers.
OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, highlighted the collaboration and stated, “Scaling frontier AI requires massive, reliable compute. Our partnership with AWS strengthens the broad compute ecosystem that will power this next era and bring advanced AI to everyone.”
Matt Garman, CEO of AWS, has also remarked, stating, “As OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible, AWS’s best-in-class infrastructure will serve as a backbone for their AI ambitions. The breadth and immediate availability of optimized compute demonstrates why AWS is uniquely positioned to support OpenAI’s vast AI workloads.”
What Can We Expect from the Collaboration Between OpenAI and AWS?
Notably, AWS is known as a leader in running large-scale AI infrastructure with advanced security, reliability, and scalability with the support of over 500K chips. This collaboration will enable OpenAI to utilize sophisticated computing capabilities. It will also grant access to trailblazing NVIDIA GPUs, which can scale AI workloads across more than 10 million CPUs.
