Sign in with ChatGPT for Third-Party Apps

OpenAI Could Soon Offer “Sign in with ChatGPT” Feature for Third-Party Apps

OpenAI is now turning its way towards signing in to third-party applications with their ChatGPT accounts. Like Google, where users can easily sign in to apps using Google accounts, Open AI is making strong competition with the tech giants. This was declared in a recent announcement on their website’page.

Alongside, Open AI also mentioned that it’s still evaluating interest from developers who wish to integrate this feature into their applications. ChatGPT is the fastest solution to all your queries, and information on diverse topics and does so much more using its natural language processing.

Considering its standout capability, Open AI is becoming one of the most popular and largest consumer applications in the world with 600 million monthly active users. This is indeed a whopping number! In a very short period, ChatGPT has gained traction in the market. To make the most of the buzz, OpenAI seems to be trying to grow into other consumer areas such as social media, online shopping, and even personal devices.

What’s More About the New Feature?

As mentioned earlier, the “Sign in with ChatGPT” feature would assist OpenAI in running in the race with other major industry players such as Microsoft, Google, and Apple, alongside offering a simple way to sign in to third-party applications.

There’s a preview of “Sign in with ChatGPT” launched early this month. It is mainly for developers in Codex CLI, which is OpenAI’s open-source AI coding tool for terminals. Developers can use this to link their API accounts to their ChatGPT Free, Plus, or Pro accounts.

Open AI has also created an interest form for developers who wish to unleash its capabilities. Further, they ask companies about their user base (from less than 1,000 to over 100 million), whether they are OpenAI users, and how much they charge for AI-powered features. However, when the feature is live for all users, it is still not opened up by the company.
